If you happened to be in Switzerland particulary in the city of Lucerne, do not miss to see and experience walking along this famous wooden footbridge.
Kapellbrücke or the Chapel Bridge is one of the main tourist destinations in Central Switzerland. This wooden footbridge is placed across the Reuss river with the length of 560 feet. The bridge was first built during the 13th century. What makes this bridge appealing to the tourists is the 17th century paintings and its picturesque view.
Did you know that Kapellbrücke in Lucerne is the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe and it is world's oldest surviving truss bridge? -wikipedia.org
Part of the bridge is the tower or they called it as "Water tower" which was used in the earlier times as prison, torture chamber and then later a municipal archive. We' didn't get a chance to see what's inside this tower because it has been closed from public.
Being with your love one and walking along this bridge is one of our best times together in Europe.
