Pandesal

Hot Pandesal anyone? When was the last time you had pandesal for your breakfast or afternoon snacks? The aroma of this freshly baked pandesal will definitely pull me out of my bed in the morning. Of course never miss your afternoon snack with coffee or juice and pandesal.
  1. Combine the yeast, sugar and warm milk
  2. Stir until the yeast and sugar are fully dissolved.
  3. In the mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, baking then mix it well.
  4. Add the egg, butter, cooking oil and yeast-sugar-milk mixture in the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients.
  5. Mix again until the dough is formed. You may use your hands to mix it thoroughly
  6. In a flat surface, knead the dough until the texture becomes fine.
  7. Mold the dough until share becomes round then put back the kneaded dough into a mixing bowl.
  8. Cover the dough with damp cloth and let the dough rice for at least 1 hour
  9. Put back th dough on the flat surface and divite into 4 equal parts using a dough slicer.
  10. Roll each part until forms a cylindrical shape
  11. Slice the cylindracal dough diagonally (These slices will be the individual pieces of the pandesal)
  12. Roll the individual slice over the breadcrumbs and place in baking pan with wax paper.
  13. Make sure the gap between the individual slices are enough as the dough will rise during baking.
  14. Leave the sliced doughs on the tray to let it rise for 10 to 15 minutes

Baking Steps

  1. Pre heat the overn at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
  2. Put the tray with dough in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove the freshly baked pandesal from the oven
  4. Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite spread!
