Turon With A Twist

Posted: 2014-02-15 | @lm!ng

One of my favortie afternoon snacks is Turon. With the usual banana (Cadiznon as well call it Calamba or Sab-a for others) wrapped in a lumpia (spring rolll) wrapper. For a twist, I've stuffed it with cheddar and jackfruit then sprinkled with sesame seeds.
  1. Peel the bananas and cut into halves
  2. Cut the jackfruit into strips about half inch width
  3. Put a sliced banana and some jackfruit strips with cheese in the middle of spring roll wrapper
  4. Arrange it neatly then wrap and roll the stuffed wrapper
  5. Wet your index finger with water and apply on the edges to seal

    Cooking

    1. Heat the saucepan and add 1/2 cup of cooking oil
    2. Put the 1/2 cup of brown sugar until the cooking oil is hot
    3. Wait until the sugar is melted, then put 2 wrapped bananas
    4. Roll the bananas to coat it with syrup
    5. Make sure all the syrup are applied or coated on the bananas before putting the next of batch of sugar and banana
    6. Remove the bananas from the saucepan
    7. Sprinkle the finish product with sesame seeds
    8. Serve hot and enjoy!
